How To Make Alluring Door Hangers For Your Business

September 22nd, 2010 — 11:15am

Thinking of advertising your business?  What about designing a promotional door hanger?  A door hanger is a useful and inexpensive way of promoting your business. The key advantage of the door hanger is that it is an advertisement that cannot be ignored. This is an opportunity and with the right design you can take full advantage of this.

The first thing to consider is color. It should stand out, but equally should be targeted at your audience. The issue here is who your audience is and you should do market research to find this out. A vacation resort is a good example. The way you would promote a theme park for younger children would be very different from a vacation at an historical landmark. If you want to aim a product at a man, you should generally pick something other than pink. Bright neon can be more eye-catching and a neutral color like yellow is less likely to alienate either gender. While we do not wish to stereotype, research generally seems to bear this out.

It is vital that you inform the local representatives of that community before you distribute your hangers. Not only will this mean you are able to distribute without interference, many local independent businesses will have space for promotional material for other local businesses, especially if they are a part of a trade network

When coming up with a design, it is often a good idea to use social networking sites or forums to discuss possible designs. If for example you are offering gardening services, it would be a good idea to post a message on a gardening website. This is also a good opportunity to promote your business and another avenue of raising awareness of your business.

Having established an ideal design, the next step is to use the website program to design your hanger. You will usually be asked to select a design layout and be shown where to upload photos and input text. Ideally the photo should be in the middle and the company name should be at the top. If possible, it is a good idea to have an eye catching special offer at the bottom.

Then you will be asked to select a size. Most door hanger designs tend to be either 3 1/2 by 8 1/2 inches or 4 by 11 inches. When selecting the size, bear in mind where you will be transporting them and who will be distributing them. While larger sized hangers will get more attention, smaller ones can also be used as bookmarks and therefore more likely to be looked at again!

What is often overlooked is that the door hanger can also be an effective tool for elected officials. While it is difficult to put full campaign promises on to a door hanger, it can be used to highlight local issues and point out the flaws in the arguments of an opponent. If you include your contact details, this will mean the voters feel they can contact you with regards to an issue, resulting in a feeling of familiarity you may not necessarily get from a radio or TV commercial.

So, why should you use promotional door hangers? Whether you are looking to promote a product, service or you are an elected official, you need to make sure people are aware of what you can offer them. With the right materials, a bold design and a clear message, you can raise awareness without the need for a massive budget.  All this and more are why you should use promotional door hanger.

Tips On How To Discover Presentation Folder Printing At Its Finest

August 28th, 2010 — 11:26am

Flyers and folders are the backbone of many marketing strategies for advertisers. They can be mailed, emailed, and presented at conferences. They are informative and colorful.  It’s a fact, however, that presentation folder must be set up correctly for the outcome to be attractive and influential.

Your printing professional has the proper equipment and knowledge to help you make sure your folder is properly set up. In this way, the colors you choose will be those that are used on the pamphlet or folder. It is easy to choose a color, send it to the printer, and the ad comes out all wrong.

Your colors need to be translated from machine to machine. That is, the computer holding all of the information needs to communicate with the printing machine. So, before any of this happens, the customer needs to let the printer know exactly what colors need to be included in the folder. In this way, the correct information can be sent to the computer, which in turn sends the information to the printing machine, and the result is perfection.

The monitor that your printing professional uses is calibrated to show more accurately the colors that will come out on your folder. A certain color wheel is used to get the combination of codes right, so there is no chance for error. You may prepare the presentation folder yourself and everything could be right, from the template to the positioning and so on, but the colors you see on your monitor need to be coded as is the monitor of your printing professional or the result can be disastrous.

When you decide on your presentation folder format, you may make it very simple for a mailing, or as elaborate as a bound booklet. It could end up looking like a magazine, if you want to spend that much money.

If your folder is going to be lengthy, it may be placed in one of many attractive folder covers on the market. They could be clear, or colored, or golden, whatever is appropriate to your product or service. These are usually bound by staples and then covered with a plastic spine, or sometimes bound by a plastic spiral using a binding machine. You may even want a three-ring binder for larger presentations.

The software you use is also important. There is software that will perfectly align your design where you want it on the page and with the text wrapped neatly around it. It can separate entire pages into columns, like in a newspaper. You should also be able to crop and place your photos, clipart, charts, and other images exactly where you want them, and perhaps a border would make them stand out even better.

Colors are an important part of your presentation folder printing. They are the determining factor as to whether or not someone will take a second look. They are your best chance for a good first impression. They have the power to make your presentation pop or have your audience yawning. It might be wise to listen to the opinion of your printing professional on the subject of presentation folder, as well.

Postcard Printing: Insightful Suggestions And Strategies

June 27th, 2010 — 1:20pm

Postcard printing offers an inexpensive form of communication that serves many purposes. No doubt, this is why the cards continue to thrive in the digital age. These cards are commonly used as invitations, marketing pieces, and greeting cards. When considering postcard printing, planning ahead will help immensely.

A well done layout is key. Thinking through the design will allow the printer to return a product that matches expectations. If the customer is providing the copy, get the design guidelines from the company so that the copy will be in the proper proportions. Avoid common mistakes. For example, the final trim is likely to cut off text and graphics that extend too close to the margin. Most printers will provide guidance for layout, sometimes for a fee. Online services often have templates to help with submitting a design.

Planning should include evaluating if the piece fits postal specification. In the United States, for example, a card larger than 6 x 4 inches will cost more to print and mail. A smaller card is eligible for a lower rate. Of course, the larger card offers more aesthetically and it some cases are preferred for this reason.

Aesthetics are also a consideration when choosing colors, the font, and any pictures to spice up the design. An image that looks fine on the web is likely to have too low a resolution to translate well into print. A light color font may appear clear on a white background on the computer and totally wash out when printed. Also look for a readable font.

If the copy is from a digital image, be sure it is of a high resolution. Images from the web generally print poorly because they are low resolution images. Save all digital files using the CMYK option for better results. CMYK (cyan, magenta, yellow, black) provide truer printing colors. RGB, which is often the default in image manipulation software, matches the colors of a computer monitor. There are exceptions, however. Some printers now prefer receiving files in RGB (red, green, blue) with ICC profiles attached.

What is being printed and the time frame are some of the variables to consider when weighing offset and digital options. Keep in mind that offset printing is still considered of a higher quality, although digital work continues to improve. Offset is more expensive and more versatile. Digital has a faster turn around.

When setting up a print job, the question of one or two sides is a good one to consider. Choosing two sides often allows the piece to have a longer life. For example, if an invitation is on one side and a picture on the other, any cards that leave of the invitation will never go out of date. It is also possible to use black and white on one side and color on the other. With an offset printing it is also possible to include some information on portions of a one-sided card that are not printed on all of them.

Like many projects, a checklist can keep track of the details and any scheduling needs. Consider if matte stock or glossy works better for the job. How many pieces are required for now and in the future will help determine the size of the run. Build in time for proofing the colors and trim.

If one has a need to communicate an idea or connect with others, postcard printing is an option to consider. They are quick, they are versatile, and often attractive as well. Indeed, it is amazing to think that postcard printing remains appealing even in our digital world.

It’s Useful To Know About The Right Setup For Presentation Folder Printing

May 29th, 2010 — 11:10am

Flyers and folders are the backbone of many marketing strategies for advertisers. They can be mailed, emailed, and presented at conferences. They are informative and colorful.  It’s a fact, however, that presentation folder must be set up correctly for the outcome to be attractive and influential.

You will find that the printing professional you choose has the equipment and knowledge needed to show off your presentation in the best light. The colors will stand out and be noticed and your presentation will be a hit. If you decide to choose colors and just submit your work to the printer without further communication, this could be a big mistake.

When colors are incorrectly translated from the computer to the printing machine, it is usually due to a lack of communication. The lack of communication is not between the computer and the printing machine, however, it is between the customer placing the ad and the printer. If the colors are communicated the right way, the printer sends them to the computer, which in turn sends them correctly to the printing machine, and the colors are vibrant and exciting, and just the exact colors chosen by the customer.

The computer your printing professional uses has a calibrated monitor to correctly communicate with the printing machine about the colors chosen. They may use a specific color wheel in order to break down the exact coding for the colors that are chosen. Even if you prepare the flyer yourself on pamphlet producing software, the format and template may be correct, but without matching the colors up to the color wheel appropriate for the printing machine, the colors you choose colors will not be produced on the flyer.

You should also use software that is specifically for making booklets. This type of software will allow you to place charts and clipart exactly where you need for them to be. If you use a word processing software, you will find that this feature is extremely limited and frustrating. With your appropriate software you may also be able to create columns, place decorative borders around your images, and the text will nicely wrap around them, as well.

Your use of colors will tell a lot about you. Be sure your presentation folder printing grabs the attention of all eyes. You only get one chance to make this first impression, so make it good. Your colors on your postcard printing will be powerful enough to wow your audience or boring enough to put them to sleep. So, choose your colors wisely.
